Downloadable index?

It's wonderful that there are thousands of royalty-free tracks available here. My dilemma now is sorting through such a large quantity to try to find some that are best suited for any given purpose. The search function on the site is pretty good, but I am also interested in exploring the tracks based on my own arbitrary combinations/rankings of traits (artist, genre, feel, instruments, etc.). Is there any sort of index or database of track listings and associated metadata that I can download to play with myself? Any file format would be fine (I might be converting it to an Excel spreadsheet for ease of use, at least initially).

Nice try :)

But no. This will also never happen in the future.

We can ask Ebay, if they send us an index of all articles as Excel file. Or we should aks google, if they please send us their whole database to build our own search engine? :D

Or we contact amazon, because we need all products in XLS Format - this would be awesome.

But i think i know the answer of Amazon, Ebay, and google, too: No!

The search feature here delivers all functions you spoke of: filmmusic.io/search

Thanks for your reply. It did not occur to me that this situation was particularly similar to Amazon or eBay, nor do I have any desire or intention to build my own search engine or anything like that; but if that sort of business concern precludes a downloadable index here, then I can certainly understand and respect that.

For my purposes I was imagining a custom query or search along the lines of: "show me a list of songs that have as many as possible of the following list of tagged moods and instruments, ranked using specified arbitrary weights for each tag." This is a bit different than the built-in search, which is more along the lines of "show me a filtered list of songs that are tagged with each and every one of the specified moods and/or instruments, ranked in one of several preselected ways." Obviously it would be strange for me to request such a specific feature, particularly for free; so I thought it might be more reasonable to search through the available tracks in a format that allows me to do that work myself.

But since that is not possible, I will make do with the existing search feature. :)

We offer an unofficial API for chosen partners, that delivers all data and many more features. You can apply via our official email adress with your business contact and a reason, why you want this and why you think this would be a great deal for Filmmusic.io.

But this is not a feature for private use, so you probably habe to use the official free search features here on the website - Like all the other free users.
