Music for Horror
Cymbals and synthesizers evoke swarming insects, as whirring and clicking noises abound with heavy reverb.

SpoooooOOoooky! Nothing says comedically spooky quite like a theramin. I don't actually own a theramin, so I cheated. Like I do. This one was created with the ES2 synth, which everyone I know hates and/or fears. It really is just misunderstood, and is quite lovely at parties.

Could be breathing, could be the wind, it is very dark, and kind of disturbing.

Add a dark intensity to any scene... Is there building action? Is there a clue? Is there a need for ambiguity?

Deep, rich, and thick soundscape with semi-tonal bells.

Piano with a tape delay and lots of dark colour in the background. Very mysterious. I picture this with horror, dramatic and mystical content. A good mix with high quality sounds, and no unexpected twists.

Oh! The horror! This is NOT a fun piece. It WILL make you feel like there is something seriously wrong. Did those veins on my forearm always look like that? I mean, they're doing a weird criss-cross pattern... and they look REALLY blue. I would have noticed that before, surely! I wonder if this has anything to do with the meteor that came down in Mr. Wilson's pond last night? Uncompressed download comes with 4 stem files in case you don't need all the creepy, all the time.

A very long dark note. Use under dialog, or to kill site noise.

This is the kind of music that makes skeletons dance. With its pounding brass, singsong flute melody, and off-kilter syncopation, this piece is whimsical and reminiscent of a carnival. It is quirky, quick, playful, and dangerously creepy, and is perfect for a lively cartoon, circus-themed content, or a magician?s show.

Edgy-sounding synths with several pulsing band-pass sweeps.

This piece is actively painful. It is ugly and nasty and dirty - about as much as you can be using exactly one orchestra. Seriously, there are occasional bits where there are notes - but mostly, it is just... uhh...

Background horror music. Symphonic with some digital processing. Some tremolo basses in the beginning are meant to be removed and integrated on their own.

A fairly intense beginning with a small piano part I pulled from a thing I wrote last week (Trio for Piano Violin and Viola), followed by a very long section of not moving much.
