Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

All pieces of music on this website are offered under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license. This license allows you to use, share, and adapt the music freely, provided you give appropriate credit to the creator. Detailed information on the license can be found here.

Crediting the author is generally required under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license. However, in my case, the crediting is voluntary. I appreciate the recognition of my work, but I also understand that there can be circumstances where this is not possible. In such cases, I waive the mandatory crediting.

If you wish to credit the author, you can do so in the following way:

Example:

No, an extended license is no longer required. The purchase of such licenses was always voluntary and mainly served to support my work. The music is now fully available under the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license, making additional licenses unnecessary.

Due to the low number of donations and license purchases, I was no longer able to maintain the old website and the associated community, which included over 250,000 users. For cost reasons, I had to decide to delete all data except for the music. Therefore, logging into the old website is no longer possible.

The music on this website is provided without any warranty and without support. Due to time and organizational constraints, I no longer offer personal support or responses to individual inquiries. Please use the music under the stated conditions without relying on additional support.

Unfortunately, for legal reasons, I can no longer accept paid commissions as I no longer operate a business. I ask for your understanding and recommend you reach out to other qualified providers if needed.

As I no longer operate a business and cannot accept donations for legal reasons, I ask you to donate the amount you wish to a charitable organization or educational institution of your choice. You can send me a copy of the donation receipt via email, so I can thank you.

As much as I would love to dive into the confusing world of YouTube, I must unfortunately pass on this matter. Content ID and I—we're not friends, and YouTube is not exactly on my list of "favorite platforms." But don't worry! I'm sure you're strong and independent enough to file a dispute. If you're still unsure about the right path through the maze of dispute options, a search engine might become your new best friend. It surely knows how you can solve the problem!

For creating A.I. music, I use a variety of renowned providers and continually test the latest technologies. Therefore, I am unable to name a specific provider here.

Even though the music is created with the help of Artificial Intelligence, this process still requires significant effort. The creation of the music involves targeted prompting, where I carefully select the best passages from the results—essentially picking the cherries—that are suitable for film scoring and media projects.

  • 2010 - Launch of my first music portfolio on my personal website ende.us.
  • 2011 - Moved to a new domain, ende.tv.
  • 2012 - A significant milestone: Over 100,000 visitors on the website.
  • 2013 - Assuming a key role at a leading media company, leading to a strategic partnership and the transfer of ende.tv to the company. This decision later proved to be a major mistake.
  • 2016 - Exit from the media company and migration of my musical works to sascha-ende.de.
  • 2017 - Founding of Filmmusic.io and transferring my music to this platform. The domain sascha-ende.de was transformed into a virtual business card.
  • 2019 - Expansion of Filmmusic.io to allow other artists to upload and monetize their music. This year also saw the establishment of "Filmmusic.io UG," a decision I later regretted.
  • 2022 - Facing significant financial challenges in maintaining Filmmusic.io. Despite forgoing a salary, "Filmmusic.io UG" had to be liquidated. I took over the project as an individual and introduced a new model allowing artists to use their own payment providers with 100% revenue share, complemented by voluntary donations. However, this approach proved to be another critical mistake.
  • 2023 - Removal of advertising for privacy reasons, further jeopardizing financial sustainability. While guest artists generated considerable revenue through their payment providers, only a few donated a portion of their earnings. The effort invested in development and support brought little return, with an average monthly income of 150-200 euros. Additionally, the integrity of the platform was compromised as artists began registering their entire music portfolios under YouTube's Content ID system, leading to a loss of trust from users and exacerbating my personal challenges, including phases of severe depression.
  • 2024 - Filmmusic.io focused exclusively on my own compositions starting late January due to ongoing trust and licensing issues. This step became necessary due to repeated incidents of guest artists registering allegedly royalty-free music under YouTube's Content ID system, violating the terms of the Creative Commons 4.0 license. This decision marks a positive turning point in strategy.
  • August 2024 - The Filmmusic.io community was closed due to a lack of financial sustainability. The platform was replaced by a modern website focusing on my music and A.I. music, leveraging the latest technologies.
