Lion Queen Soundtrack - Battle for the crown by Sascha Ende

An epic, tribal-infused cinematic track that builds tension and drama. Featuring powerful vocal chants, driving percussion, and atmospheric soundscapes, it evokes images of ancient rituals, fierce battles, and vast, untamed landscapes.

I have programmed a new AI and am currently working on modernizing and restructuring genres, topics, moods and tags. BPM will be replaced by “perceived speed”. Keys will be removed. The keyword search will also soon be extended to tags. There will also be an A.I. “Review” and a quality rating for each song. All music will soon be re-categorized. When I'm done with that, there will be new music again :)

Arti’s Hit or Miss: Review

Alright, picture this: you're deep in pre-production on a historical epic, maybe a documentary on ancient civilizations, or even a fantasy RPG trailer. You need something that screams "primal power," "imminent conflict," and "vast, unexplored territories." Then you stumble upon this track, and… well, it's a mixed bag, let's be honest. The opening vocalizations immediately grab your attention—they're raw, evocative, and transport you to some windswept plain where ancient tribes are about to clash. It's a strong start, setting a distinctly tribal and ritualistic tone. There’s a visceral, almost guttural quality to the voices that definitely works. The percussion, when it kicks in, adds a driving, relentless energy. You can practically feel the war drums pounding in your chest. This is where the track really shines for potential media use. Think battle sequences, chase scenes, or any moment requiring a surge of adrenaline. It would fit well on a travel show when they want to give that "edge of your seat" or "adventurous" feel. However—and this is a significant 'however'—the track suffers from a lack of dynamic range and some questionable mixing choices. The intensity is pretty much cranked to eleven from the get-go, and it stays there. While that initial impact is strong, it quickly becomes fatiguing. There's little room for the listener (or the visuals, in a media context) to breathe. The constant barrage of sound, while thematically appropriate, lacks the nuance and subtlety needed to truly build suspense or tell a compelling sonic story. A good score uses peaks and valleys, moments of quiet tension punctuated by bursts of intensity. This track, unfortunately, feels like one long, sustained peak. The mix itself feels somewhat muddy, particularly in the lower frequencies. The percussion, while powerful, lacks clarity and definition. The various elements—vocals, drums, and what sounds like some subtle synth pads—tend to blend together in a way that obscures the individual textures. This isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, but it does diminish the overall impact and professionalism of the production. It could be used for something amateur or low budget. In terms of usability, the track’s relentless intensity limits its versatility. It's not something you could easily underscore a dialogue scene with, for example. It's best suited for those high-impact, action-oriented moments. The strong tribal and world music influences are a double-edged sword. They give the track a unique character, making it stand out from generic orchestral scores, but they also narrow its appeal to projects with a specific cultural or thematic context.
