About

As a musician and composer with a lifelong passion for creating original compositions, I have dedicated myself to honing my keyboard skills and expanding my musical abilities since the age of seven. While I initially focused on playing from sheet music, I quickly became drawn to the challenge and excitement of developing my own melodies.

In the early stages of my musical journey, I utilized a Sony Mini Disc Recorder to record and manipulate sounds in order to create my own songs. Although the results were far from polished at that time, they provided a solid foundation for my continued development as a musician.

With the advent of home recording technology in 2011, I began producing my own music using either Cubase Studio or FL Studio, depending on the genre. To date, I have created over 600 original songs, and I am committed to demonstrating that even unknown artists can achieve recognition and success without the support of a record label. Filmmusic.io, a platform that showcases the work of independent musicians like myself, is a testament to this belief.

In addition to my work as a musician, I also enjoy exploring other creative pursuits such as photography, drones, and film production. My diverse range of interests and passions contribute to my holistic approach to creativity and self-expression.

Hi Sascha, I have been using all OST's for my movies so I haven't had to worry with using licensing, youtube strikes etc. Now I am making a feature length film and my normal musicians are not available. I am making this feature length film with all content mostly from this site. I understand the process but I am curious about some of your comments about Youtube lately. Mainly because this movie is going straight to Youtube as the main platform for viewers after the premiere and initial screenings. How is one to know if Youtube will flag your video and hide audio by accident? Doesn't using only content from here mean that won't happen? Thanks-Charlie

Dear Filmmusic.io users,

I've decided to make a change to how music registered in YouTube's Content ID System is presented on Filmmusic.io. From now on, tracks registered in this system will only be found if you explicitly search for them. Here's why:

Music under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) is meant to be freely used with proper attribution. When such music is registered with YouTube's Content ID, it often flags videos even if the creators have attributed correctly. This can lead to unexpected penalties, like demonetization or copyright strikes.

Additionally, CC BY 4.0 music in the YouTube Content ID System is actually not permitted. See here: https://support.google.com/you...

I believe in the integrity and promise of the CC BY 4.0 license. Therefore, by sidelining tracks in the Content ID system, I aim to protect you from any unforeseen issues and to ensure that you can trust the music you source from Filmmusic.io.

Thank you for understanding and continuing to make amazing content with the music you find here.

Warm regards,
Sascha Ende

I extended the search options with some new filters: https://filmmusic.io/search

Other changes:

- At the front page, new music now onlys show CC BY 4.0 music that is free.
- Same for the categories Genres, Topics, Moods and Charts

The settings for Youtube Content ID can now be made by each artist themselves. If not all songs but only individual songs are affected, this check mark can also be set only for individual songs: For each song there is now the possibility to activate Youtube Content ID individually.

On August 17, my lawyer sent a final cease and desist letter to google - by email and by registered mail. The answer came from google by email on the same day. You can tell that it's either a standard response or just no one really bothered with it. You get the feeling that they don't care if they get sued.

Here is the answer from google:

Hello,

If you feel that your channel has been wrongly removed,
you can read in this help article about how to file a complaint
File a complaint against the blocking.

Best regards
The YouTube team

I was firmly expecting such a nonsensical answer again. However, a cease and desist letter was necessary to go to court.

Unity Online in the Face of Real-world Conflicts

In my journeys across the vast landscapes of the internet, I often stumble upon contradictions that baffle and amaze me. As the world seems increasingly divided, with geographical borders and political ideologies forming towering walls, the internet emerges as a sanctuary of collaboration and connection. One such revelation is on my website, Filmmusic.io. Here, amidst the backdrop of the painful conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Russian and Ukrainian artists unite in harmony.

Wars have the power to divide cities, rip families apart, and leave indelible scars on generations. They redraw boundaries and kindle enduring hostilities. Yet, in the digital realm of the 21st century, there are no bombings of servers, no tanks rolling down digital streets. Instead, individuals, regardless of origin or political alignment, come together, sharing their art, ideas, and narratives.

Filmmusic.io stands as a testament to the bridges music, a universal language, can construct between cultures and nations. It's a poignant contrast – Russian and Ukrainian artists collaborating on a platform, while their home countries are embroiled in real warfare. This makes me ponder: Is the internet more than just a space for memes, social media interactions, and online shopping? Could it be a realm where genuine human connections thrive, even in the face of the world's most daunting conflicts?

This seeming absurdity might carry a glimmer of hope for our shared future. While the tangible world is mired in power plays, territorial claims, and age-old animosities, the digital domain offers a canvas for coexistence and cooperation. It’s a gentle reminder that, despite the grand political machinations, at the core, people are just people. They love, grieve, dream, and create, no matter which side of a border or conflict they find themselves on.

Perhaps it's time for us to draw inspiration from online communities like the one on Filmmusic.io and begin shaping our tangible communities in the spirit of peace and collaboration. Such a step could be the beacon of hope in an increasingly intricate world. As I share these reflections with you, I am filled with a renewed sense of optimism for what we, as a global community, can achieve when we choose unity over discord.
